Four Heidt Design Clients Named ``Top-Selling Master-Planned Communities of 2019``

Real estate consulting firm RCLCO recently identified the nation’s top-selling master-planned communities of 2019, and four Heidt Design clients were on the list. These include:

- Lakewood Ranch in Sarasota, Florida (No. 2)
- Balmoral in Houston, Texas (No. 27)
- Starkey Ranch in Land O’ Lakes, Florida (No. 30)
- Latitude Margaritaville in Daytona Beach, Florida (No. 33)

In addition to making the list of top-selling master-planned communities of 2019, Lakewood Ranch was also No. 2 on RCLCO’s “Best of the Decade” list.

For over 25 years, RCLCO has conducted a national survey identifying the best-selling communities through a rigorous search of high-performing master-planned communities in each state. The top-selling master-planned communities of 2019 list is ranked by the number of home sales in 2019.
Heidt’s Work on Four Top-Selling Master-Planned Communities of 2019
Lakewood Ranch
Lakewood Ranch in Sarasota, Florida, sold 1,648 homes last year, making it one of the top-selling master-planned communities of 2019. Heidt Design has designed over four miles of four-lane collector roads for the master developer, as well as DR Horton’s 640-unit Solera development and the Pulte Group’s 460-unit development in the northeast sector of Lakewood Ranch. Heidt also continues to provide civil engineering and landscape architecture services for most of the phases in and around the community.
Balmoral
Balmoral in Houston, Texas, which sold 467 homes in 2019, is home to the state’s first man-made lagoon powered by the CRYSTAL LAGOONS® technology. Balmoral offers two expansive sandy beaches, a grotto and a stunning 2-acre turquoise lagoon. Heidt Design led the team of consultants, providing conceptual planning and programming for the lagoon’s surrounding activation zone.
Starkey Ranch
Starkey Ranch in Land O’ Lakes, Florida, sold 450 homes last year, making it one of the top-selling master-planned communities of 2019. Heidt Design was responsible for the landscape architecture design of the community’s accompanying District Park, adjacent to the Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Preserve. The Starkey Ranch District Park was one of the first projects in Pasco County to employ the Mixed Use Trip Reduction Measures (MUTRM) design approach. It was awarded the 2016 master-planned Community of the Year by the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB).
Latitude Margaritaville
Latitude Margaritaville is a new portfolio of active adult communities developed by Minto and Margaritaville Holdings. Offering resort-style amenities, Latitude Margaritaville embraces a four-pillared lifestyle: food, fun, music and escapism. Heidt Design managed the landscape architecture services for the first two Latitude Margaritaville communities, including the one in Daytona Beach, Florida.
