Project Details

Lago Mar is an exceptional mixed-use community containing over 4,500 homes located in the Houston suburb of Texas City, TX. Heidt Design was invited to lead the conceptual design and activation zone programming for the man-made lagoon powered by the CRYSTAL LAGOONS® technology. The stunning 11.8-acre turquoise lagoon design blends the private resident experience with the rest of this master-planned community along the retail and restaurant frontage of the Public Access Lagoon®.

The multiple and distinctive user experiences are seamlessly blended in the community’s thoughtful design, which is based around one exciting aquatic amenity. The idyllic crystalline lagoons of Lago Mar offer residents and patrons a multitude of sandy beaches, wedding venues, and aquatic kid zones in addition to a swim-up island bar, a floating obstacle course, and the most elaborate cabanas pool envisioned in any master-planned community.
